About Mini Transilvania Park

Mini Transilvania Park is the result of the Legendarium project. It presents models of tourist attractions in Romania, mostly in Transylvania, some of which are UNESCO World Heritage sites. The models are the work of artists Domokos Vajda and Auróra Németh Hajnal. The miniature park is unique in Romania, and there are several others in Belgium and Austria.

In the video about Mini Transilvania Park you can watch it here.

1. The Museum of the Secler Gates

After parking, signposts direct us right down a wide alleyway towards The Museum of the Secler Gates or the Gallery of the Secler Gates. This is an open-air museum.

The traditional Secler gate is carved in wood and often painted in bright colors. The Museum of Secler Gates presents 16 monumental, painted gates, rescued from various Secler villages and restored. The museum is the 1973 initiative of Mihály Kovács continued by György Vofkori.

2. Orbán Balázs Memorial

The Secler Gate Lane ends at Orbán Balázs' grave monument. Orbán Balázs was born in the nearby village of Polonița, into a Secler family. He traveled through Szeklerland and published between 1868-1873 "Historical, archaeological, geographical and ethnographic description of Szeklerland". Orbán Balázs was buried in Seiche. In front of his tomb the gates of the Museum of Szekler Gates, the first one being the gate of his own house, stand guard.

In Mini Transilvania Park there's a Mini Mocăniță, pulled by a steam locomotive. The train travels on a small circuit through the models, through a tunnel and over a bridge. Between the park is a landscaped green area with paths, stairs, a small castle, a restaurant and a playground.
