Drumul Taberei Park, Bucharest

The most beautiful park in Sector 6

Location. Access.

Drumul Taberei Park is located in sector 6 of the capital, in Drumul Taberei neighborhood. It is bordered by Drumul Taberei, Targu Neamt street, again Drumul Taberei (street in the shape of letter J) and Brasov street. It has about 10 entrances, the largest being the 2 at the intersection of Drumul Taberei and Brasov street. The surface of the park is about 30 hectares. It is permanently open and access to the park is free.

About Drumul Taberei Park

Drumul Taberei Park appeared on the neighborhood map in the 1960s under the old name of Alexandru Moghioros Park. Alexandru Moghioroș is the name of a former Romanian deputy prime minister in the Chivu Stoica government. In 1976 a swimming pool was built here, which received the popular name Trei Ligheane. Between 2013-2015 the park was renovated and now looks beautiful. In 2019 Drumul Taberei Greenhouses opened in the park.

1. Sports grounds

The park circuit has two parallel paths, which can be followed: one for bicycles (on which you can run on foot) and a wider, asphalted pedestrian path. They pass first by tennis courts and tables for table tennis, basketball and handball courts.

The park is guarded, and employees of the security company patrol the alleys of the park. The park is very clean, every morning the "sectors" are done very meticulously including in the fall when many trees are leafing.

Following the sports fields, on the first corner, is a space equipped with gym equipment and fitness. Outdoors and looking very good.

2. Greenhouses Drumul Taberei

Follow Drumul Taberei greenhouses. They can be visited free of charge within the posted timetable with escort. The greenhouses and the planets here look very nice, so a "detour" through the greenhouses is a good idea. The greenhouses have 7 chambers with flora specific to different climatic zones: tropical 1 and 2, Mediterranean, desert 1 and 2, palm, equatorial. In front of the greenhouses continues the bike path on a path flanked by a beautifully manicured hedge.

3. Bridges

The alleyways are asphalt tongues that "cut" the green grassy space, on which for the most part you can walk or rest, with some exceptions signposted. Attractions include bridges, enclosed until covered with vegetation. Under some bridges are ping pong tables or de sahbanks.

4. Playgrounds

We continue our walk along the inner contours of the park. We reach the children's playground. In this area, apart from the specially delimited space, there are also some painted designs on the pathway, such as a dungeon or a spiral, other play options for the little ones.

5. The arched bridge

The highlight of the park is in the middle. It is arched concrete bridgewhich vibrates when you cross it. It offers a superb view over the entire park.

6. Drumul Taberei lake and amphitheater

At the foot of the arched bridge is another much-loved landmark, Drumul Taberei Lake. It is an artificial one, it is intended for agreement activities so it also has a small pier where you can rent boats and hydrobikes. The lake covers 1.2 hectares and has an almost constant depth of 1 meter. In the middle of the lake, a artesian fountain, which delights children and not only.

On one side of the lake is summer children's theater or amphitheater. Near it, a concrete bridge with stairs provides a crossing over an arm of the lake to a peninsula on which is fixed the main supporting leg of the arched bridge.

7. Skatepark and maze

On the last side of the park is a skate park, but also a labyrinth.

The benches are innumerable; the coolest alley is a side alley, completely covered by tree crowns and where dozens of benches are lined up on both sides of it.
