Sfântu Gheorghe is the county seat municipality of the county Covasna. The Transylvanian city is located on the Olt river. The Hungarian name is Sepsiszentgyörgyand the German Sankt Georgen.

Population: about 56.000 inhabitants, of which about 75% Hungarians, 20% Romanians

Confessions: Reformed 35%, Roman Catholic 30%, Orthodox 20%.

1. Tourist Info Center

Address: Strada 1 Decembrie 1918, Number 2

Tourist Info Center is located near the fountain, in the building pictured below. Unfortunately only with information in Hungarian language and quite little information.

We are in a pedestrianized area, on the edge of a park. In the opposite direction from the info center is Statue of Michael the Brave.

2. Elisabeta Park

Elisabeta Park it is a small green oasis in the city center, close to it there are also the sights to visit in the city.

3. National Museum of the Eastern Carpathians

Open Tuesday - Friday from 9 am - 5 pm

National Museum of the Eastern Carpathians is a museum of archaeology, presenting specific finds and historical information from the area.

4. Szekler National Museum

Address: Piata Libertatii 7

Szekler National Museum was under active renovation at the time of my visit. It is a wonderful, fascinating building.

5. Szeklerland Cinegetic Exhibition

Address: 11 Grof Miko Imre Street

Szeklerland's Cinegetic Exhibition is open in Casa Bene, an early 20th century secession-style building. The building is a historical monument. The museum presents an interesting collection of hunting.

We end the walk from where we started and notice another beautiful building, which houses Art Galleries.
