2. Race

We continue across Nicolae Balcescu Boulevard to the right, crossing the main artery, Bd. Unirii, and head towards stationto admire the station building, the roundabout in front of it where a steam locomotive is taking a picture and wishing us "Welcome!".

From the train station we head East along Republicii Boulevard or the neighboring streets to get to a wonderful place I never knew about until recently.

3. Marghiloman Mansion

Address: rue Plantelor 8B

Permanent open

Here is the Alexandru Marghiloman Cultural and Educational Center. Here are organized events, theater performances, caricature presentations, films.

Marghiloman Mansion is like a palace out of a fairy tale. Iancu Marghiloman was a nobleman who bought in 1867 a property at "Bariera Brailei" where he built the mansion and landscaped a park.

4. Marghiloman Park

Address: rue Plantelor 8

And the park is free to visit anytime. Although Marghiloman Park it doesn't have high Google scores, I liked it very much. I thought it was clean, quiet, has a lake with swans, ducks, a much loved bridge and is full of flowers and well maintained hedges.

It is another manor house, a historical monument, It belonged to the boyar Vergu. Vergu-Mănăilă House is attested since the 18th century, today's building is a 20th century reconstruction, which retains some elements of Brancovenetian architecture.

Here is open Museum of Ethnography and Folk Art, part of the County Museum.

6. Grove Park

Address: 13 Nicolae Balcescu Boulevard

Permanent open

Groâng Park, the city's largest park, is perhaps the emblem of Buzau. It was created in the 19th century in the Crang Forest through its partial development. It has some very wide alleys, in one part of the park is the Gloria Stadium, an obelisk, a lake, playgrounds, bicycle paths.

I found it particularly unkempt and was disappointed with how this green corner of the city looked.

Conclusion

Buzău is modest from a tourist point of view. The few attractions - museums, mansions, parks - are too few for such a city.

In Buzău county you can visit The Trovans of Chiojdu  and House with coats of arms in Chiojdu, Colți Amber Museum, Luana Country or Mud Volcanoes.

All the best!
