Access

This route in the Postavaru Mountains is a loop and has as access base Three Brazi Hut, Brasov county, located near the town of Predeal. It can be reached from Brasov by road in 45 minutes via DN1 to Predealthen the last 5 km on the DC15A. The road is paved all the way to your destination. It is possible to park for a fee in several parking lots in the area or for free outside. You can also take the train to Predeal train station, from where it is 6 km to Predeal station, which takes 1.5 hours on foot.

About hiking

This is an easy hike with a little more effort on the uphill segment. The route follows the route Trei Brazi Hut - Dealul cu Mesteceni - Valea Cheii - Cheile Râșnoavei - Valea Tociliței - Poiana Secuilor Hut - Trei Brazi Hut and fall in the "domoal" area of The Postăvaru Mountains.

1. Trei Brazi Hut - Dealul cu Mesteceni - Valea Cheii

1-1.5 hours / blue triangle / easy

I parked in front of the Fun Park. There are 2 paths marked with blue triangle, which cover this section of the route. They meet about 30 minutes from the starting point. I chose the path that starts right next to Trei Brazi Chalet. There is no marker to highlight it. Simply follow the woodland beside the old hut, which climbs gently past a property. Slightly to the left is a lookout point overlooking the Bucegi Mountains. The path changes direction abruptly a couple of times in some glades, without the exits from the glades being well signposted. The Postăvaru peak appears. The descent continues through coniferous forest, with one short exception. In the second part of the descent we move on The birch grove. The footpath converges in the Tocilița Valley, in a well-marked branch, near Key Valleywhere we find parked cars and take a lunch break. The junction with the Valley of the Key is also well marked.

2. The Valley of the Keys - The Gorges of Râșnoavei - Tociliței Valley

Go to Key ValleyTo the left are three triangle markers. We cross Rhenoave Gorges on a wide forest road, in very good condition, which is occasionally traveled by cars. In the area with the steepest walls, at the exit of the gorge, there is still a car park, but also a zip line over the abyss, where organized bungee jumping is practiced. We'll return through the gorge along the same road until we reach the fork in the road we came down with Tocilița Valley. The walls in Rhenoave Gorges on the section are called Chalk Face, Aboland Rock, Key Corner.

3. Tociliței Valley - Poiana Secuilor Hut

1.5 hours / yellow triangle / medium

I chose the way back on Tocilița Valley, marked with yellow triangle. This follows for 30 minutes the forest road on the thread of the above-mentioned valley. We then cross the stream and climb steadily through the forest to the Poiana Secuilor Chaletfrom where we again admired the Postăvaru Peak. There was a stage where a band was playing folk music.

4. Poiana Secuilor - Three Brazi Huts

30 min / yellow stripe / easy

From Secuilors' Hut follow the wide forest road marked with yellow stripewhich leads to Trei Brazi Chalet. There are also some small shortcuts on the pasture path.
