Energy from the Throne of the Ancients

Where is it, when to visit?

Throne of the Ancients is located on the Orlea Hill, near the town of Hațeg in Hunedoara County, on the opposite side of the DN66 from the SLivuț Forest, where the ZImbri Reserve is located. For access to Tronul Străbunilor, tourists park at Popas Zimbrul, on the DN66, located between Simeria and Hațeg, 40 km from Deva, which takes 45 minutes by road and 4 km from Hațeg. The nearest train station is in Hațeg, 4 km away. It can be visited at any time.

About the Throne of the Ancients

Throne of the Ancients is also called Throne of God or Jidovului Stone. Colonel Constantin Zagoriț conducted topographic studies in the area and put forward a theory that radically contradicts that of Hadrian Daicoviciu. He claims that here between the Dacian and Roman Sarmizegetusa, on this hill, was the true capital of the Dacians, a place charged with energy.

1. Poteca

Time needed 20-30 minutes each way. Route not officially marked. Easy difficulty.

From the restaurant's parking lot a wide path, like a forest road, leads deep into a beech and then oak forest. On the left is a military unit, we continue straight ahead. The path leads to 2 destinations: The Royal Fortress of Hațeg and Throne of the Ancients. The road has several branches, some are shortcuts. On the trees are some wooden arrows inscribed with fortress or throne. There are two places where the two arrows point in different directions. The first such crossroads can be misleading. The easiest way is to follow the arrow towards the fortress on the wider road! Only at the second fork with different arrows follow the direction of the tron.

We immediately reach Throne of the Ancients. It is 6 meters long, 2 meters wide and 4 meters high. The head of a bour can be seen on one side. Both here and at the entrance to the route it can be inferred that there was the boundary of the royal fortress.

2. Throne of the Ancients and energy

Throne of the Ancients is a huge rock that appears out of nowhere in the forest. But we have to realize that the forest in which this megalith is located did not exist tens or hundreds of years ago, and the huge stone was visible from afar, as it was located on the crest of the hill. The legends surrounding the throne opened a pilgrimage route to it. There are stories of giants in the Hațeg region, but they also have a scientific explanation as our ancestors in Roman times were taller.

Specific to this place and the reason why curious tourists or pilgrims come here is energy that if you just sit, unburden yourself, relax, you'll feel it. Another attraction is many of the trees in the throne area, which grow two by two. Another enigma is the dark-colored stain inside some broken branches.
