About The Story of the Calendar

Porumbacu de Sus became an interesting destination after a couple from Bucharest built here, in 2015, the Clay Castle, initially thought to be a different accommodation unit. The spectacular construction attracted and the castle became a tourist attraction. Another family from Sibiu developed, in 2021, the theme park built on elements of folklore and customs inspired by the months of the year in what would become the „Story of the Calendar„. 12 story houses are built here, one for each month of the year. Then the area was littered with vendors of all kinds.

1. January – February

Gerar and Făurar are the popular names of the months January and February. Gerar is the Gingerbread House where you can buy sweets in particular. Făurar is Căsuța Dragobete, dragobete being the popular Romanian celebration of love and romance. Here you can pose with angel wings in a rocking chair, and the decoration is flowery and there are no shortage of love locks.

Prier or April is in the Splashing House where you can find childhood stories and games like X and 0, target, chess and others that you can actually play. The Flower Altar Haouse represents the month of the Florar, i.e. the month of May. It is a small round house.

The name of the month of July, namely Cuptor (as oven), is equally suggestive. Here is another creative workshop. You can paint, model, glue, string bottles.
