About Predjama Castle
Predjama Castle is shrouded in the information circulating about it in mystery. This makes it even more sought after, and even more visited. Plus, it's the only castle in the world built in a plague that still stands. And how! Predjama Castle is built in the huge opening of a 123-meter-high cave gorge. Its origins can be traced back 800 years in the historical calendar. The visit is organized very simply and practically. At the entrance you get a helmet in which the guide's presentation is recorded, which marks about 25 - 30 points, about which you hear information in the helmet. When the headphones are distributed you have to specify in which language you want to listen to the story.
What can we see in the multi-level castle? A slightly convoluted but undeniably unique construction. We find several collections of medieval weapons, spears, halberds, shields, bows, bows, plates, armor. Interestingly, in the winter months the castle is closed because many colonies of bats nest here, in summer they retreat into the depths of the cave. The castle has about 5 floors. In fact it is difficult to say how many levels the building has because they are not equal horizontally, they depend on the configuration of the ground on the one hand, but also on the cave ceiling on the other.
