Pharmacy Museum in Cluj-Napoca is located at 28 Unirii Square and can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm, with the last admission possible 30 minutes before closing time. The full ticket costs RON 30 and there are also family and reduced-price tickets. The Pharmacy History Collection and the Medical Apparatus Collection are on display.
Pharmacy Museum belongs to the National Museum of the History of Transylvania and is housed in the Hintz House. Here it functioned between 1750-1949 Hintz Pharmacy. The house preserves 18th century pharmaceutical decorations, unique in Romania.The building preserves the old division of traditional pharmacies. Thus we discover the officina, the materialis room, the laboratory, the cellar, the pharmacist's office, the attic where medicinal plants were dried. The museum was inaugurated in 1954. György (I) Hintz took over the pharmacy in 1863 from his mother, Mathilde Mauksch. György Hintz I was the first Transylvanian to obtain a doctorate in pharmacology. He was followed by György (II) Hintz and György (III) Hintz. The pharmacy was named "Dr. György Hintz".
There are 3 rooms on the ground floor of the Hintz House. In the materialis room were stored the raw materials used in the preparation of medicines. In the officina the medicines were sold. The room also attracts by its baroque painting. The owners worked in the pharmacist's office and there is a specialized library. The rooms exhibit pharmaceutical vessels, water tests, microscopic samples, homeopathic kits, pharmaceutical accessories and paintings.

Pharmacy Museum
Raw materials or sensitive pharmaceuticals were stored in the basement. Here are the multimedia room, the laboratory, the museum education room, the anatomical amphitheater and the collection of medical apparatus. A movie is playing in the multimedia room, telling the story of the Hintz house and family. Medicines were prepared in the laboratory. In the museum education room medicinal soaps are prepared, essential oils and perfumes are experimented with. There are containers, pharmaceutical paraphernalia, coins, medical apparatus and we learn about the hospitals in Cluj.
