Park of secular pear trees Lions is located 7 km from the center of Bistrița, which can be reached by road in 15 minutes, following the Aerodromului street, up to the Coocoșului Hill. There are several free parking lots along the road. Access is permanently free of charge.
Park of secular pear trees is a project of the Bistrita Lions Club, which can be enjoyed by the general public since 2023. The overall objective of the project is to preserve the ecosystem, specific and genetic diversity of the traditional extensive old fruit tree orchard on Cocos Hill. In the park, further down the hill, there are Michael's Cottagewhich acts as an information point.

In April, we found flowering pear trees in all their splendor, loaded with white flowers. There are also apple trees in the park and about 80 younger pear trees planted by Lions volunteers. The Via Transilvanica trail runs through this beautiful nature park, where it is pristine and you meet people who come to relax and enjoy an outing in nature.

Tibleș Mountains
From the park you can enjoy a wide view of Bistrița and the surrounding mountains. There's a wooden observatory built higher up, where the best view is from. The view of the Țibleș, Bârgăului and Rodnei mountains, where patches of snow can still be seen, is superb.
