Where is it, when is it open, how much is admission?

The Flori de Mină Museum is located in the tourist resort of Cheia, Prahova County, on Main Street, at number 1, post code 107356. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm in October-April and from 9am to 7pm the rest of the months. The full ticket costs 12 lei and the discount ticket costs 8 lei. Prices are as of November 2023.

About the Mining Flowers Museum

In an old house that also houses a kindergarten, Flowers by Mine Museum presents 170 geological exhibits from the "Mihai Viteazul" collection. The Cheia Museum is part of the Prahova County Museum of Natural Sciences.

1. Museum

In the first room, which is square in shape, you will find the ticket office and the shop, as well as some exhibits. Then you enter a large room on the right. Here we're fascinated by the spectacular display of mineral flowers. We encounter quartz, calcite, amethyst, amethyst, gypsum, agate, pyrite, stibite and more.

2. "Michael the Brave" Collection

At the end of the great hall is the "Michael the Brave" collection. Here are the large and most spectacular exhibits, the so-called geode.

A mineral specimen consists of one or more aesthetic minerals. They are found in areas with eruptive rocks and are formed from superheated vapors and hot waters emitted by volcanoes.
