Zóltan Kállos Ethnographic Collection is part of the Transylvanian Plain Educational and Cultural Center. The collection is housed in a palatial building and was opened for visitors in 2010. The exhibits were overwhelmingly collected by the founder of the collection, Zóltan Kállos. Next door is the Foundation Zóltan Kállos.

You can watch a short video presentation here.

1. "Clean rooms"

The exhibits are presented on the first floor of the castle, in different rooms, each with its own theme. The objects come from areas of Transylvania populated by Hungarians. The most representative collections are from the Transylvanian Plain, the Călatei Country, the Ghimeș area and Moldova. There are also collections from the Saxon and Romanian communities. In areas with a Hungarian population, the representative item is the bed laden with all the dowry the girl was given for marriage, with pillows, towels, etc. The higher and heavier the bed, the more wealthy the girl's family.
