1. The gates and the path
The theme of the park is our Dacian ancestors. The 2 gates of the park are lined with Dacian osteniums. Between them the "cararea" was formed.
Path of the Dacians or Dacian Park is a sculpture park set up in the meadow near Polovragi Monastery, Gorj county. Shortly before entering the monastery, DC22 has a fork in Y, DC continuing half right towards Polovragi Cave and further on to The Oltet bend, and ahead is the Monastery Street leading to the monastery gate. At the fork of this Y, there is a wide meadow, in which this park with sculptures has appeared, since I haven't been in the area. The Dacian chariot can be visited anytime, free of charge, as it is an outdoor sculpture exhibition.
The theme of the park is our Dacian ancestors. The 2 gates of the park are lined with Dacian osteniums. Between them the "cararea" was formed.
On either side of the high stone pedestals are busts of Dacian chieftains and their god, Zamolxe.
On one side there is a small wooden house, but it doesn't look like a Dacian dwelling, in my opinion. We also appreciate the wood carving called Time of the Daciansby sculptors Radu Lazar and Stefan Stramtu. In the background we see Polovragi Monastery and Oltetului Gorges.
If you are in the area, it's a good idea to spend a few dozen minutes in the sculpture park Path of the Dacians.
Visit also the Polovragi Cave and city of Târgu Jiu!
All the best!
