About Constanta Aquarium

Aquarium in Constanța is another much-visited Black Sea resort. It opened on May 1, 1958 and is the first public aquarium in Romania. The Aquarium is a former restaurant annex of the Casino, if you didn't know!

1. By aquarium

Visiting the aquarium follows the one-way idea. That is if you consider that you enter through one side and exit through another, diametrically opposite, located 50 meters away. This is an indication that the aquarium does not occupy a large area, especially if you compare it with what many of you have seen in other countries. Neither is it technologized, it doesn't look like in other countries, it has remained quite anchored in the times with the coat of arms on the tricolor.

Inside, you don't have to go one-way, but you can turn around if you want. In the entrance and exit hallways are two maps representing Black Sea.

The rather small aquarium aims to showcase what else but ... aquatic fauna and flora. The museum has three sections (this one I found on the net, on the spot I didn't realize it): Marina, Dulcicola and Exotic Fish.

From marine sectionTowards the exit but also in the central basin you will meet fish from the sea, among which you cannot ignore those with the "crest on the back". Stur Sturgeon, cega, black bream, morun. But some I didn't see again on my last visit. They're valuable for their meat and roe, and they wallow in the Black Sea.

Sweets section includes freshwater marine animals that wallow in the freshwater ponds and lakes near the Danube. For the connoisseurs with and without a fishing rod, say hello to carp, carp, red mullet, catfish.

Exotic fish section is the most attractive in the museum. In the small aquariums set around the inner circumference of the museum you can watch exotic fish and reptiles from the Americas, Africa and Asia swimming, resting, eating and hiding. By their names we call them piranhas, knifefish, anemones, angelfish, catfish, lionfish, xifo, most of them brightly colored.

As for emphasizing the way of lighting and information about what we see, we have to learn from others.
