We start our walk on Cuza Voda street and pass by the Heroes Monument. When we cross Republicii street we go a little to the right to meet ...

1. Union Museum

The address is 30 Republicii Street. It is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 16 pm.

Union Museum presents objects that belonged to the people of Focsana in the 19th century, including some of the family of the Lord Alexandru Ioan Cuza. Focsani is the symbol of the Little Union of January 24, 1859 and here you can also learn that Focsani officially became a city in 1862.

2. Major Gheorghe Pastia Communal Theater

The superb Major Gheorghe Pastia Communal Theater was reduced at the initiative of Major in reserve Gheorghe Pastia, who donated a large sum of money on the condition that the theater would bear and display his name. In front of the theater there is an alley with the stars of local cultural figures, flanked by busts of some of the most famous personalities.

On the same street I liked 2 other buildings, even if we can't call them tourist attractions. The University and St. Parascheva Cathedral.

The address is in Gării Avenue.

Museum of History and Archaeology is part of the Vrancei Museum. I found it under renovation. The main theme is related to the Unification of the Romanian Principalities under the reign of Alexandru Ioan Cuza. To the right of the museum, in the intersection is the bust of Stefan cel Mare.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed this walk through Focșani, in which we got to know a little better the city of the Little Union. Obviously you can get a deeper insight into Focsani's life and history by visiting some of the listed objectives. Focsani is not very touristy, but it is full of history. A big minus from me because it lacks a Tourist Info Center.
