The Buzău County Museum is the most representative museum in Buzau that operates in a historical monument building, built in 1920. It has 3 sections: archaeology, history – memorials and fine art. The “George Ciprian” Theater is also located in the same building. Also belonging to the County Museum is the spectacular Amber Museum located in the town of Colti, in the enigmatic Tara Luanei.

2. The train station

We continue across Nicolae Balcescu boulevard to the right, cross the main artery, Bd. Unirii, and head towards the station, to admire the station building, the roundabout in front of it where a steam locomotive stands for a picture and wishes us “Welcome!” . From the train station, we head east along Republicii boulevard or along the adjacent streets to reach a wonderful place that we didn’t know about until yesterday.

3. Marghiloman Mansion

Address: Plantelor street 8B

Permanently open Here is the Alexandru Marghiloman Cultural and Educational Center. Events, theater performances, caricature presentations, films are organized here. The Marghiloman Mansion is like a palace from a fairy tale. Iancu Marghiloman was a nobleman who in 1867 bought a property at “Bariera Brailei” where he built the mansion and laid out a park.

4. Marghiloman Park

Address: Plantelor street 8

And the park can be visited for free at any time. Although Marghiloman Park does not have high marks on Google, I liked it very much. It seemed clean, quiet to me, it has a lake where swans and ducks swim, a much-loved bridge and it’s full of flowers and well-maintained hedges.

It is another nobleman’s mansion, historical monument, It belonged to the nobleman Vergu. The Vergu-Mănăilă house is attested since the 18th century, today’s construction is one rebuilt in the 20th century, which preserves some elements of Brancovean architecture. The Museum of Ethnography and Folk Art, part of the County Museum, is opened here.

6. Crâng Park

Address: 13 Nicolae Balcescu Boulevard

Permanently open

Crâng Park, the largest park in the city, is perhaps the emblem of the city of Buzau. It came into being in the 19th century in the Crang Forest through its partial development. It has several very wide alleys, in one part of the park is the Gloria Stadium, an obelisk, a lake, playgrounds, bike paths. I found it particularly unkempt and I was disappointed by how this green corner of the city looks.

Conclusion

Buzau presents itself modestly from a tourist point of view. The few objectives – museums, mansions, parks – are too few for such a city. In Buzău county you can visit the Trovantii from Chiojdu and the House with coats of arms from Chiojdu.

All the best!
