About the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania

The building that houses the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania is Reduta Palace. Its name comes from the name of one of the palace's halls, the Reduta Hall, where in 1894 the "Memorandists' Trial" took place, brought by the Hungarian authorities of the time against the leaders of the Romanian national movement. The museum has been open here since 1957.

4. Iconography of witchcraft and the Téglás István collection

A large space is devoted to an interesting subject, namely the iconography of witchcraft. Here we see paintings depicting devils, but also masks. Also upstairs is the Téglás István Téglás István collection, with the carved stone from Săvădisla (Cluj).
