Ethnographic Museum of Rimetea It is located at number 34 on the main street of Rimetea, Alba county.From Alba Iulia there are 60 km to Alba Iulia, which can be traveled by road on the A10 and DJ107M in an hour. It can be visited from Tuesday to Friday between 9am-5pm. The full entrance ticket costs 10 lei and the reduced ticket 5 lei.

About the Ethnographic Museum of Rimetea

The museum displays collections of ethnography and local history. In 5 rooms are presented the occupations of the inhabitants of the area, a house interior, folk costumes. The exhibits are collected from the villagers.

1. Museum building

The building that houses the museum is an old stone building, with a typical wrought-iron floor and balcony, built in the 19th century. It also houses the town hall and library. Behind the courtyard you can admire the Trascăului Hills and Piatra Secuiului on the horizon.

2. Local crafts

Mining, ironworking and metallurgy have been practiced in the area since the Middle Ages. The most commonly used agricultural implements were plows. There were also water mills here, one of which is still working and can be visited in the village today. There are also pottery, coffles and a stove on display

3. Popular port

The presentation of folk costume could not be missing. An old room with a baby's cradle, a chest, a bed and dolls is also reproduced. Several models of houses reveal the architecture of houses in this region. The furnishings are painted with Szekler motifs.
