Franciscan Church in Cluj-Napoca, Cluj

A beautiful church in Cluj

Where? When? How long?

The Franciscan Church in Cluj-Napoca is located at 2 Émile Zola Street or Museum Square, as the place is also known. The street is pedestrianized. I found the church in the midst of exterior renovations, but access inside was allowed. Free of course.

About the Franciscan Church in Cluj-Napoca

The Franciscan Church in Cluj-Napoca is dedicated to "Maria Ză nieveii". The Franciscan church is built in baroque style, was opened in 1290 and is a historical monument. The tower in front of the church is 52 meters high. Above the gate is the statue of St. Mary, the patron saint of the church.

The bright interior of the church

The interior is dominated by the colors white and pink marble. The organ is above the entrance and the beautifully decorated pulpit to the left. Frescoes adorn the interior.
