The Greeting to the Sun is both a monument and a place, a much-loved tourist attraction in Zadar. It is located on Istarska Obala, as the street is called, on the shore of the Adriatic Sea on the Zadar peninsula. The place is neighbor to another famous sight, Sea Organ. The Greeting to the Sun or The Monument to the Sun is a monument dedicated to the sun. Here 300 laminated glass panels are embedded in the stone cliff paving. This construction is circular in shape with a diameter of 22 meters. Under the glass are photovoltaic solar modules. The architect is Nikola Bašić. We can enjoy this place since 2008.
As sunset approaches, hundreds of people bound for this place. Then the contemplation begins. The spot is right at the end of the peninsula, in the direction where the sun sends its last rays at sunset across the shimmering water, which spreads them in dozens of shades of yellow, orange, red, even a little gray if a cloud is interspersed.
