Musical fountains in Bucharest

And the water dances harmoniously to the music

Where are they, when do they visit?

Bucharest's musical fountains can be found in Unirii Square. On Google Maps they are listed as "Fantasies in Union Square". It's not a spectacular name, but there they are! You can get there by double-decker bus, when it runs, by subway on the 1 and 2. More recently they are practicing scooters and other vehicles with 2 wheels. I don't recommend you to travel by tourist.

After a break due to the pandemic, in May 2022 the Musical Fantasies. The show can be watched free of charge on Friday evenings through Sunday for the following months: June & July - from 21:30; May & August - from 21:00; September & October - from 20:00. The show lasts about 45 minutes.

History

80's - The fountains in Unirii Square and on the current Unirii Boulevard are a realization of the Ceausescu Era of the 80's. Strictly fountains with their architecture.

The system of artesian fountains is 1.4 km long and covers 1.6 hectares.

2018 - New systems were fitted and installed to transform them from simple fountains to what they look like today. The water jets rotate to the sound of music, and the visual effects of the controlled coloration of the water add the necessary ingredient for a show. Of course, everything has to be harmonized with the music and this is done by remote control. The equipment integrated here was state-of-the-art at the level of the year of investment.

1. Shows

The shows have different themes. Generic they are called "Water Symphony". The water dance, the choreography if we can call it that, are adapted to the theme. The music is very well chosen and the coordination is very good.
