About the Calendar Story

Porumbacu de Sus has become an interesting destination after a couple from Bucharest built here, in 2015, the Lut Castle, originally intended to be a different kind of accommodation. The spectacular construction attracted and the castle became a tourist attraction. Another family from Sibiu developed, in 2021, the theme park built on elements of folklore and customs related to the months of the year in what was to become "Calendar story". There are 12 fairytale cottages built here, one for each month of the year. Then the area was overrun with vendors of all kinds.

1. January - February

January and February are popular names for January and February. Gerar is the gingerbread shop where you can buy sweets. Făurar is the Dragobete cottage, dragobetele being the popular Romanian celebration of love and romance. Here you can pose with angel wings in a rocking chair, and the decor is all in bloom with love locks.

Marzipan, or March, can be found in the Goodie Mushroom where you can buy pancakes, muffins, chocolate and other sweets. Prier or April is in the Sprinkler Cottage where you'll find childhood stories and games like X's and 0's, jigsaw, chess and more that you can actually play. The Flower Altar Cottage represents the month of May, the month of Florist. It is a small, round little box.

3. June - August

June is also suggestively called Cherry Blossom. This is the Memory Box. It's pink and cheerful. Here you can build something and keep it as a memory. Equally evocative is the name of the month of July, the Oven. Here is another creative workshop. You can paint, model, glue, glue bottles into string. August or Gustar month is in the Sunflower Cottage, where there are gastronomic workshops.

The month of September is also called Rapture, and here is the Storytelling Oak, the place to listen to stories by the stove. October or Brumărel is more spooky because it's housed in the Inn of Horrors. Here you can walk a little trail of horror. November Moon is popularly called Brumar. Discover it in the Acorn Cottage, a workshop of experiences.

5. December

December Moon or Undrea is in the place called Santa's Tree. Here there was a queue of children who wanted to meet Santa Claus and talk to him. Letters could also be left with the wishes of good children.

6. Other entertainment

A children's train takes guests around a short circular route. There's also a terrace with a barbecue and a terrace with a pot roast. The many tastefully chosen decorations are just as many options to immortalize your visit in photos. At the end I leave you to admire Făgăraș Mountains.

The concept is also a commercial one based on temptations for sale in the little houses, among which sweets are the most sought-after. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours to visit the park. Of course you can also spend all day at the Calendar Story.
