Baile Felix - a year-round resort

Location and access

Băile Felix resort belongs administratively to the commune of Sânmartin. Road access to Baile Felix is via the E79 / DN76 Oradea - Deva (193 km). The distance to Oradea, the county seat of Bihor county, is 12 km. https://mytravel.express/ghiduri-mte/ghid-turistic-oradea/.

In Baile Felix road traffic is very wisely thought out. The European highway practically follows the resort's ring road. Along it are some of the resort's facilities, those located to the east. Davidoff, Noblesse, Etiquette are the newer arrivals on the left side of the road, contrasting with the old hotels on the right side Crisana, Poienita, Mures. At a certain point, just after the Clinical Hospital of Recovery, several signposts, including the "center" one, lead to the interior of Baile Felix. At the first important crossroads we intersect Primaverii street, which leads right towards the center. We will continue on crossing Primaverii and turn right. The street, parallel to the European road, runs along the western side of the resort. On the left side of the road we will have the forest and the former railroad, on the right side Padis, Vital, Felixarium and Lotus Therm Hotel, Termal, Nufarul and Apollo swimming pool. Along the road there are many paid parking lots. Despite a busy resort, we did not see any traffic jams due to this organization.

About Baile Felix

Baile Felix is the largest permanent spa resort in Romania. It has earned a reputation at home and abroad. I was quite skeptical about what the resort looked like, knowing spas that were flourishing during Ceausescu's time and have degraded. I was to be very pleasantly surprised by what I found in Baile Felix. Or pleasantly, not to exaggerate.

Băile Felix resort has been renowned for decades primarily for thermal water. The beaches here offer the possibility to immerse in thermal water all year round. For curative or recreational purposes. But one of the attractions of the place is the vegetation reserve, unique in this part of Europe.

The thermal springs in this area have been discovered since the beginning of the second millennium. The area is very rich in thermal mineral springs with temperatures between 40 and 49 degrees Celsius. Their curative properties are certified. We find bicarbonated, oligothermal, radioactive waters, containing sulfur, calcium, sodium and magnesium, and the muds here have sapropelic properties. Treatments at Felix are recommended for the relief of joint and muscle pain and rheumatic neuralgias. The resort is recommended in the treatment of inflammatory rheumatic diseases, degenerative diseases and diarthrosis, diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, some gynecological diseases, post-traumatic states, endocrine disorders and others. I didn't know why I went in broken and young and came back repaired and younger!

1. Felix Park

We enter the alleys Felix Park. Don't look for the indoor cure as it is closed. The walk through the alleys of the park, through the proximity of the thermal water pools from which water vapors gently rise to the surface is pleasant. It starts to rain. Let it rain. If hundreds of people remain steadfast in the pools of warm water even though the timid splashes of rain have made their presence felt, why should we give up our walk? We reach an area with many stalls. We get out quickly. We came for the park, not shopping. We arrive at the lake.

2. Lake with water lilies

Actually, there's a couple of lake in the park. We're at Lake with water lilies. WOW! Wonderful! A bridge leads us over the water of the main lake. Even though it's raining, tourists go one by one on the bridge for pictures, We are surrounded by huge water lilies, most of them blooming. A surprising tableau! I've never seen anything like it!

Exotic fish and turtles swim in the park's lakes. But unique are the water lilies. Here they've thrived in favorable conditions white water lily of the species Nymphaea Candida. It is a herbaceous, perennial plant, protected by law. It prefers shallow water up to 1.5 meters. Its circular green leaves can reach 30 cm in diameter. Water lilies are the flowers with the most significance in mythology, symbolizing the power of creation, immortality, health, glory or peace of mind. They begin to bloom in the first decade of June. They are extremely rare water lilies that survived the Ice Age, I read. I was admiring the white water lily in the park's lakes. There have also been acclimatized lotus species brought from India and Pakistan. The thermal water lily and the pond cypress also live here.

3. Hotel President

The address is on Aleea Sărutului. Hotel President is one of the main hotel locations in Baile Felix that offers a relaxation complex. It features a modern and well-equipped treatment and recovery center, and the hotel is classified with ****. Here you can also find the famous Romanian anti-aging treatments "Ana Aslan". Perhaps surprisingly, I've seen on TV, in winter the outdoor pools with thermal water are preferred. The sensation of going from cold to warm is an appreciated and relaxing experience. 4. Aqua Park Apollo

The address is Strada Victoriei 30. Apollo is one of the most modern thermal water aquatic offers. The complex is very extensive and has 10 swimming pools including a wave pool, indoor pools, pools with and without thermal water, hydromassage facilities, games and waterfalls, children's pools with slides, which are always a favorite of the aquapark guests. more information on http://felixspa.com. 5. Lothus Therm SPA & Luxury Resort

The address is 20 Victoriei Street. It is the most select option. Lotus Therm is the only spa hotel of ***** in Romania. It excels by its highly efficient SPA center, therapy and treatment for body and soul. It has its own water park called Felixarium, the most expensive in the resort. Details on http://lotustherm.ro. Felix Baths is a big resort, a living resort. Many tourists. Civilization. Many options. Park. Nymphaea water lilies. Parking. Thermal baths. Pleasant climate.
